csm annual fashion showcase report

It's been a little while coming but here at This Seasons' Daydreams we like to give things to you when they're absolutely perfect :) So without further ado here are the results of my findings from the annual Central Saint Martin's Fashion Showcase...
Once again the showcase for the BA in Fashion, and the Fashion with Marketing did not disappoint and left us very hot & excited about the new generation of design talent and all their future plans...

First up, the cream of the crop from BA Fashion.
Momo Wang's exciting designs have raised many a childish squeal of delight from viewers of her collection, which was based around nursery rhymes and construed a youthful feeling towards the audience.
Using a range of strong colours and textures Momo evokes the vividness of childhood memories and creates a strong sensual impression. This impression was further carried through the inclusion of thoughtful props such as huge balloons in the models' hair, and teddies on the arms of many of those mannequins who sauntered down the runway. Overall the strength of the feeling won Wang the Runner-up prize (shared with Ivan Curia Nunes) for the L'Oreal Professionel Young Talent.
Next, Nami Kuroki swept us away to her land of Eley Kishimoto-esque delicate prints with a focus on tailored separates...
Through her strong looks and colour usage, she proves that she is definitely a designer to watch in the near future.

Thirdly, the work of Pierre Czapiuk, which was structured to make unconventional usage of materials. This was both exciting and effective, really utilizing the silhouette in a way which is both dramatic and wearable. If Czapiuk continues to create works like this, he will certainly crack that desirable formula of commerciality which is so beloved by the major fashion houses.

Adam Mosley is another designer who is displaying great promise through his womenswear designs. His CSM graduate collection was one of the stars of the showcase- a melange of beautiful colours, textures and details made for a rich and desirable palette of clothing and a strong and desirable visual message. His efforts are truly something that any fashion-conscious man or woman can enjoy, mixing just the right amount of fun and seriousness...
